The Annual CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon has raised more than four million dollars over its seven year history for 15 local hospitals in Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth and Wellington Counties.

The Radiothon was broadcast on CKNX AM 920, 101.7 The One and simulcast on 94.5 The Bull on Saturday October 18th. The annual Radiothon gives hospital Foundations the opportunity to raise money for much needed medical equipment.

In another record setting year, the Radiothon has collectively generated over $703,000.00 for the 15 participating Foundations. All funds raised through the Family Fun Day Event that was held at the Flesherton Arena, Kinplex & Pavilion will go towards the new C-Arm X-ray machine for Centre Grey Hospital.

We are pleased to report that in another record setting year, the Radiothon has collectively generated over $806,000 for the 15 participating Foundations. Final totals are in and we are pleased to report that Centre Grey Health Services Foundation fundraised over $21,097.12 through their 2008 Radiothon event.

All funds raised will go towards the new C-Arm X-ray machine for Centre Grey Hospital n Markdale. Thank you to everyone for the outstanding support!

The Great, Humungous, Hospital Penny & Change Drive
Sept. 17, 2008

Nikki & Alison Kinney are pictured (L-R) at the information table that was set up at Beavercrest School’s Meet the Teacher Night on September 17th, 2008, to circulate information regarding the upcoming Centre Grey Health Services Foundation Family Fun Day taking place on October 18th at the Flesherton Arena, Kinplex & Pavilion.

All area schools have been invited to participate in the annual Great, Humungous, Hospital Penny & Change Drive.  Every classroom will be given a bucket and for one day only, as according the school schedule below, students will be asked to bring in any type of change to put in their bucket – pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, loonies or toownies.

Each participating class from all six area schools will then have the chance to win a class Ice Cream Party; one party will be awarded for each school that gets involved.  All participating classes will also receive a complementary Family Fun Draw ticket for each student.  The grand prize for the draw is a round trip on Via Rail Canada train for four from Toronto to Ottawa, a weekend stay at the Cartier Suite Hotel and four tickets to an Ottawa Senators hockey game!
