The Quality Care Close to You Campaign for a new Centre Grey General
Hospital today marked an important milestone: breaking through the $10
million dollar mark in gifts and pledges! This leaves less then $2 million
to reach the target of $12 million.
To celebrate the event, the campaign steering committee held a brief cake
cutting ceremony in the boardroom at Chapman’s Ice Cream.
Present for the photo and cake were steering committee members: Mrs. Donna
Hutton – Chair of the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation, Dr. Hamilton
Hall – Campaign Chair, Mr. David Chapman, Mr. Dick Kavanagh, Mr. Willard
Foster, Mr. Grant Preston, Mr. John Redmond – Foundation Coordinator, and
Jennifer Edwards – Executive Campaign Assistant. Also present were Campaign
Director Richard Therrien and Eric Flint, both of One-to-One Fundraising.
Dr. Hall took all committee members by surprise by making a substantial
additional personal pledge to ensure that the campaign surpassed the $10
million dollar mark. This inspired other committee members to make
additional personal pledges as well.
Dr. Hall said: “We are so very close to our goal . Even those who have
already made a commitment can give again. Every additional gift or pledge
will have tremendous impact. We’ve come too far to fail. We need a final
burst of enthusiasm and generosity to carry us across the finish line.”
