Holiday traditions bring excitement to some but trepidation to others. The Centre Grey General Hospital Auxiliary (Markdale) is raising funds for the local hospital via their 6th Annual Christmas Cookie Sale. Whether you like to bake or prefer to purchase the baked treats from the Auxiliary, there are opportunities for both.
If you love to bake and wish to contribute to the hospital, here is a way you can do that. The organizers of this event are now calling for bakers to sign up at the Markdale Hospital Kiosk. There are a few requirements for the cookies and/or squares, so you will be given a sheet of instructions when you sign up. The baking can be done just a few days before the Thursday, December 6th event and be delivered to the Markdale Fire Hall Training Room between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. that morning.
If you prefer to purchase the cookies and/or squares baked by others, that too is supporting the Hospital. You can purchase these festively wrapped gift trays by placing your prepaid order at the Markdale Hospital Kiosk before November 21. Trays either contain 50 cookies or 40 squares. The popularity of this event has grown each year, so it is likely to sell out again. Place your orders as soon as possible.
The big day is Thursday, December 6 at the Markdale Fire Hall Training Room. The bakers will deliver their baking from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. and the purchasers must pick up their prepaid orders between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the same day.
For information, call 519-794-0570 or 519-924-1567. The organizers and the many helpers thank you with their smiles and the knowledge that both you and the Auxiliary are supporting the local hospital.
