President and CEO Maureen Solecki tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the Lion’s Head and Wiarton Hospitals were rated within the top three performing hospitals in Ontario under the “would recommend” acute care category.
For overall satisfaction in acute care, Meaford and Wiarton were in the 90th percentile range.
In the “would recommend” category in Emergency Care, Wiarton and Markdale hospitals were in the 90th percentile range in community hospitals in Ontario.
For the “overall satisfaction” category in Emergency Care, Markdale and Meaford were in the 90th percentile and above range. Solecki says for overall satisfaction in the Day Surgery category, the Owen Sound hospital was in the top three performers in Ontario. The survey also showed a 93 per cent overall satisfaction rate for inpatient care at Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton.
NRC manages patient satisfaction surveys for hospitals across the province, and distributes annual results to hospitals to encourage facilities to share and learn from the best practices of other sites.
