FROM AN AUGUST 13 CENTRE GREY HOSPITAL FOUNDATION PRESS RELEASE –
Sea & Ski Realty Ltd. was proud to present a cheque of over $23,000 to the Centre Grey Hospital. These funds were generated from the first annual Hospital Fundraising Golf Tournament which was hosted on Friday, July 20 at the Highland Glen Golf Course in Grey Highlands.
Karen Cox, the owner and Broker of Record of Sea and Ski, said the day exceeded her expectations and is ecstatic Sea and Ski can support our local hospital.
“Our goal was to raise $15,000 and we raised $23,008.08,” she said. “If we want a community hospital we all need to support it and we figured we could do our part by running the golf tournament.”
The Centre Grey Hospital helps numerous people throughout the area providing services such as 24-hour emergency care, acute hospital care, palliative care, endoscopic procedures, diagnostic imaging, physiotherapy, and laboratory services. The CGHF relies on donations from the community to raise $500,000 each year to ensure the hospital has what it needs to function efficiently.
Darlene Lamberti, the Foundation Coordinator for the Centre Grey Health Services, said the event had a fantastic turnout and that she was delighted, not only with the amount raised, but also with the strong support that the community showed to local healthcare.
“Your support ensures that the hospital will be there and operational when you need it most,” Lamberti says.
Sea and Ski took the opportunity to thank their fellow event sponsors: Highland Glen Golf Course, Westmount Storefront Systems, Scotiabank, Beaver Valley Ski Club, Centre Grey Builders & Suppliers (1975) Limited and Devonleigh Homes Inc., our hole sponsors: Fleshcon-Flesherton Concrete Products, The Co-operators Dundalk & Markdale, Johnson & Schwass Professional Corporation, Osprey Snowhawks Snowmobile Club, Sparlings Propane, Eastlink Business, Foodland Markdale and Highland Fuels & Supply and our prize donors: BMW Grand River, Scenic Caves, Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club, Cranberry Golf Course, Georgian Hills Vineyard, Squire Johns and Justin’s Oven. Without all of their support, the event would not have be the success that it was.
