Ongoing need for equipment funds at hospital
Christmas is approaching and the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation has officially embarked upon their annual Light for Life campaign to raise money for much needed equipment.
Letters addressed to all those who donated to CGHS Foundation throughout past campaigns were mailed out during the first week of November, which will be followed by a larger mailing to all area residents this week.
Although this year’s goal is ambitious, it is necessary to raise these funds in order to maintain full medical services in the current facility. A freezer for the blood bank, a slide stainer, an oscillating and sagital saw, a heavy duty power drill, a treadmill and a new operating table are all on this year’s Light for Life Christmas list. The total cost of this equipment is $158,900; each piece can eventually be moved over to the new hospital.
“The facilities and medical staff at Centre Grey hospital are stretched to the limit. Equipment must be kept up-to-date if members of our community are to receive the high quality care to which we have become accustomed. Support for Light for Life helps to ensure that ‘Quality Care Close to You’ continues to be available,” says Dan Rose, CGHS Foundation Chair
