Ongoing need for equipment funds at hospital
November 22nd, 2006
Christmas is approaching and the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation has officially embarked upon their annual Light for Life campaign to raise money for much needed equipment.
Letters to all those who donated to CGHS Foundation throughout past campaigns were mailed out during the second week of November, which was followed by a larger mailing to all area residents earlier this week.
Although this year’s goal is ambitious, it is necessary to raise these funds in order to maintain full medical services in the current facility. Upgrades to the Endoscopy System, a new Cautery Unit for Surgical Services, a new Bi-Pap machine for Emergency Services and a MTS Gel System and Auto Verification Program for Laboratory Services are all on this year’s Light for Life Christmas list.
The total cost of this equipment is $143,985 and each piece can eventually be moved over to the new hospital.
“Support for previous fundraising activities of the Foundation has been instrumental in keeping Centre Grey Hospital viable for our community and we’re hoping for another successful Light for Life campaign this year. A gift to the hospital is really a gift to the entire community,” says Dan Rose, Chair.
