(R-L) Pictured is Cathy Saharevich, owner of Sahara’s Garden Centre presenting a cheque to Centre Grey Health Services Foundation in the amount of $385 to Donna Hutton, CGHSF Chair & Jennifer Edwards, CGHSF Coordinator.
The funds were raised by Sahara’s Garden Centre on May 18th when they hosted the Chainsaw Carving Event that was held at their store in Ceylon. The day long event featured carver Dan Hawethorne (pictured in inset photo), who spent the day showing off his incredible carving talents. Hot dogs and beverages were sold and one of Dan’s wood carvings, a wolf, was raffled off. The winner of the carving was P. McLaughlin of Proton Station.
All funds raised during the day were donated to Centre Grey Health Services Foundation’s hospital equipment fund. The money will be put towards the $40,000 cost of two new Electrocardiogram Machines (ECG) for Centre Grey Hospital in Markdale.
