Q: What is the Centre Grey Hospital in Markdale?

Founded in the late 1920’s, the Centre Grey Hospital is a 14 bed; community-based Hospital located in Markdale, Ontario. The Hospital provides care to over 20,000 people living in Grey Highlands, Southgate, West Grey, Chatsworth and the villages of Dundalk, Flesherton, and Markdale. The Centre Grey Hospital is now amalgamated with 5 other hospital sites as part of Grey Bruce Health Services.

Q: What health services does the Hospital provide?

Grey Bruce Health Services Markdale provides a full range of medical services including 24-hour emergency care, acute hospital care, palliative care, diagnostic imaging, physiotherapy, and laboratory services for the community. Visiting specialists provide orthopedic, and general surgical consults. Clinical nutrition, and diabetes care are examples of the diverse services available.

Q: How is the Hospital funded?

Operational funding for the Hospital is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care through the Grey Bruce Health Services.  Equipment and technological upgrades are funded by the generosity of the community through the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation.
