Saturday, September 13th brought family and friends together for a fund raising golf tournament at Markdale Golf & Curling Club in memory of the late Ryan Smith.

A day of fun was had by all who attended and the idea that this was more then just a fund raising event, but a day of celebration of the man that Ryan was, and what he meant to us all. Ryan would truly have been proud to know that so many family and friends not only remembered him, but in a day of fun and golf, raised over $4000 dollars for Centre Grey Health Services Foundation’s equipment fund. The money will go towards the purchase of a new C-arm x-ray machine for Centre Grey Hospital.

It was an honour and a privilege for the Smith family to hold this event, with a special thought throughout the day for the memory of the late Dorothy Smith, Ryan’s grandmother. On behalf of my family, I thank everyone who took part in the day. I look forward to doing this again next year!
